Webinar: Supporting emotional regulation
Early Start Australia presents the panel discussion and Q&A about supporting regulation in children with autism.
What is emotional regulation and how do we manage it?
Emotional regulation has a crucial influence in a child’s learning, development and connection with their families and caregivers.
Supporting emotional regulation development can be one of the biggest challenges facing families in our over-stimulating world.
Join our multi-disciplinary panel of senior therapists working in our ESA Early Childhood therapy teams to learn more about supporting regulation in children with autism.
The panel will explore topics such as what regulation is and include an overview of sensory and neurological regulation.
You will learn practical strategies on how to respond immediately to de-escalate dysregulated children.
We’ll explore coaching parents to co-regulate and help them acknowledge their own triggers and help them build connection.
What you will take away from this session:
- Develop a practical set of strategies
- How to calm a child in a session
- How to manage transitions in and out of the therapy room
- How to support regulation at home
- How to build attachment and connection in families to assist regulation
