Welcome Taliya

We are so excited to welcome our newest occupational therapist to ESA Christies Beach.

It was wonderful to host Taliya as she completed her final university placement at our clinic in 2024 and we have been lucky enough to have Taliya agree to join our team as a therapy assistant for the remainder of 2024 and then excitingly as an occupational therapist in from January 2025.

During her placement, Taliya was pitched a project to create an Interoception program for our occupational therapists to use.

Interoception is the word used to describe the signals our body gives us (for example, butterflies in our stomach, hot cheeks, tight muscles).

When we provide therapy to children who are having challenges with regulating their emotions or with toileting and sleep, we use activities which help them to increase their interoceptive awareness; to notice their body signals better and take action.

After seeing what Taliya was able to create in six weeks and the way she worked with our team at ESA, we have no doubt she will make an amazing therapist and can’t wait for you to meet her.
