Christies Beach group program: Sandy Toes Beach Excursion
On Tuesday, the 13th of January, our Christies Beach clinic hosted their first Sandy Toes Beach Excursion.
This was a group that enabled children the chance to practise community safety and engagement skills as we walked to the beach and local playground for a fun morning facilitated by 2 of their OT’s.
This group was really well received by the parents of the attendees and they reported that they loved the combination of structure and allowing the children to interact naturally.
This group involved playing some fun games on the sand as a team and exploring the local playground.
Targeting the children’s social, community safety, play and self-care skills in a beautiful and peaceful environment provided a great change of pace from clinic sessions.
We hope to run this group again in future holidays, as requested by positive parental feedback!
