Box Hill South welcomes back Gen Ackland, Practice Principal!

Background and experience

Genevieve Ackland is a Speech Pathologist with over 15 years of experience.

She has worked for The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development within schools as well as several leading private practices in Melbourne before commencing with Early Start Australia, Box Hill South in 2014.

Genevieve also works in the Developmental and Autism Assessment Team at Melbourne Paediatric Specialists, Royal Children’s Hospital.

Genevieve is a gentle and caring clinician who is very much client centred.

She aims to make a positive difference to each client and their family.

Genevieve strives to include a neurodiversity affirming approach and use evidence-based practice in her work.

Genevieve has additional training in The Developmental Individual Relationship (DIR) – Floortime, Hanen Programs and The Secret Agent Society Social Skills program.

Clinical interests

Genevieve has worked with clients from preschool age to adolescents and she has a passion for working with autistic individuals, including taking families through diagnostic process.

She also has a particular interest in working with speech and language delays as well as supporting individuals to have the tools to be able to communicate in and navigate social situations in a way that is true to themselves.

  • School holiday and group programs
  • Parent coaching and online information sessions
  • Psychology (therapy and assessments)
  • Therapy sessions in Hallam and surrounds is now available
  • We offer FREE new client calls where you can chat to a team leader before embarking on therapy or assessments

Additionally, we offer community-based support in a variety of settings, including home, kinder, school, and childcare, all within our travel range.
