Early Start Australia Durack provides occupational therapy and speech and language pathology services to children and young adults (birth to 13 years)

Our experienced and passionate therapy team has been providing services to support children and families from Darwin, Palmerston and rural areas since 2010.

We deliver our services in our clinic, via telehealth and offer mobile services in the home, school, community setting and remote visits.

No matter where you’re at on your therapy journey, we offer a range of services, programs and evidenced-based therapies to realise your goals.

Programs

As part of your therapy journey your therapist we may recommend some specific therapy programs to assist in achieving your goals including:

The use of alternative augmentative communication (AAC) strategies can support people with communication difficulties.

Interventions are designed to achieve functional outcomes that support the child with what they want and need to do for healthy development, participation and independence.

Support your child prior to commencing school or during school transitions to develop the skills they need to be confident and independent at school.

We run small social skills groups for children experiencing difficulties fitting in at school or with their peers.

Practice Principal

Caitlyn joined Early Start Australia in February 2014 when it was formerly known as OT for Kids NT. 

She has a passion for working with families and their children, to address the needs of the whole family, and supporting their children in reaching their full potential to engage in their meaningful occupations.

She also has a special interest working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and is a certified Early Start Denver Model therapist, leading the ESDM Programs in our Northern Territory teams.  

Caitlyn has training and experience with: Feeding and Mealtime Management, Motor Planning and Praxis, DIR Floortime, Circle of Security Parenting Certification, Trauma Informed Care, Sensory Processing Assessment and Intervention, Astronaut Program, Therapeutic Listening, Family Partnerships and Coaching, Social Skills, Self-regulation programs including Traffic Jam In My Brain, Zone of Regulation, 5-point Scales, Alert Program and Way to A Program. 

Caitlyn values the importance of working as a team with families, neurodiversity affirming practice, inclusiveness and positive team culture.
