About Us

Early Start Australia | WA |Armadale (formerly Stirling Speech and Allied Services) has been providing Speech and Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy services in the South Eastern corridor of the Perth metropolitan area since 2009.

We assist infants, children and young people (0-18 years) who have challenges such as developmental delays and those diagnosed with Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

We work to ensure our clients and their families to attain the best possible outcomes, and work closely with families and teachers to enable them to make informed choices about their child’s or student’s management.

We provide services in the clinic, via telehealth, provide services at school, home and child care; and also school screening opportunities.

Meet our Practice Principal

Carol Richmond
Practice Principal

Carol is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who joined Early Start Australia in 2021. Graduating from Curtin University of Technology with a Bachelor of Science, Occupational Therapy with Honours, she has a strong disability background in physical, neurological and developmental conditions. She brings extensive experience working with children and families in the not for profit, government and private provider settings across metropolitan and regional and remote Western Australia (WA).

In former management roles, Carol has had the opportunity to lead and grow diverse teams, explore and implement service improvement initiatives, and manage transitions into NDIS. She also brings with her policy experience, supporting state mainstream agencies with the transition to NDIS, development of the WA State Disability Strategy and Action Plan and providing advice to the community care sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Carol’s work as a Practice Principal at Early Start Australia involves providing leadership to the therapy and administrative teams to provide evidence-based early intervention and therapy services to children, young adults and their families. She is passionate about embedding therapy goals into everyday routines and supporting families to make informed decisions.
