About Us

We have immediate availability for our OT services – no wait list.

 

Early Start Australia | QLD | Buderim opened in 2021 and provides quality therapy services to the children and young people on the Sunshine Coast. We provide Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Speech and Language Pathology services to infants, children and young people (birth to 18 years). Our therapy services are delivered in the clinic, via Telehealth, and we also offer mobile services to childcare, school, at home and in community settings.

Our team are committed to helping develop children and adolescents’ life skills to enable them to participate in daily activities to the best of their ability and achieve their goals.

We have:

  • a strong early intervention program (for children up to seven years old);
  • therapists that are passionate in building capacity in teenagers and young adults; and
  • a strength-based approach to building independence and resilience in school aged children.

 

Programs we deliver

Kindy Screeners

  • For children moving into Prep

This program is offered online and face-to-face as well as being delivered in Kindy centres.

High School Readiness Screeners

  • Children moving into high school

School Superhero’s group

  • Prep readiness group

This is a face to face Program for children aged 4-6 years (going to Prep next year)

Lego Therapy

  • Communication skills, fine motor skills, social skills group

This is a School Holiday Group Program for children aged 6-9 years

Cracking the Social Code – Based on the evidence-based PEERS® program

This is a School Holiday Group Program for children aged 13-17 years

We Thinkers

How to play group

This is an afternoon Group Program for children aged 4-6 years (going to Prep next year)

Play Pals Group

  • Early Play skills group focusing on social, emotional, language and physical development.

This is an early intervention group program for children under 4 years old.

 

Parent Connect Group
This is a group working with parents of children up to 5 years of age, to support and work with their children. We cover the topics of developmental milestones, sensory processing, engagement, play, meltdowns, resilience and independence skills. These are fortnightly small group sessions with an Occupational Therapist.

Meet Our Principal

Georgie Pearce
Practice Principal

Georgie (Master of Occupational Therapy) is our Practice Principal and a Senior Occupational Therapist. Georgie has experience working with children, adolescent and adult populations with a wide range of neurological disabilities and mental health diagnosis.

Passionate about what she does, Georgie is  an engaging and enthusiastic  therapist driven by increasing the independence and daily functioning of her clients. She is goal oriented and ensures she is following the best evidence when providing therapeutic intervention.

Georgie has post graduate training in a variety of therapy techniques including positive practices in behaviour support, harnessing neuroplacticity in learning, strength-based therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and the model of human occupation. Georgie is also certified in delivering the PEERS® adolescent and young adult social skills group program and has completed the introduction course of the Early Start Denver Model.

Skilled at creating a safe space for her clients to practice new skills without fear of making mistakes, Georgie embraces her  positive and upbeat personality to quickly build rapport,  motivate and create good connections with her clients and their support network.

Meet Our Team

The Buderim team is a growing group of therapists (occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists and a psychologist) who are warm, passionate, kind-hearted and willing to go that extra mile for clients, families and workmates. Our team has a strong knowledge of early intervention programs, evidence-based practice and will endeavour to stay on top of and up to date with all things happening in our fields as well as our local area. Our team also has knowledge of behaviour support practices and will be able to assist with managing difficult behaviours and contributing to behaviour support plans.
