About Us

Early Start Australia| NT | Winnellie (formerly OT for Kids NT) has been providing Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Pathology services to the Darwin, Palmerston and rural areas since 2010. We also have regular services to remote NT communities.

Our team of therapists assist children and young adults (birth to 13 years) and we believe that every child and young adult is unique and amazing and can live successful and fulfilling lives.

Our passion drives us to go the extra mile. We see the challenges children and parents face on a daily basis and strive to provide support, encouragement and a simple approach that can work for the whole family. .

We deliver our therapy services in our clinics, via telehealth, or our mobile service where we will visit in the home, school or community setting.

Meet our Practice Principal

Shannon Hallatt
Practice Principal

Shannon is an Occupational Therapist and founded OT for Kids NT in 2010 that transitioned to Early Start Australia in 2018. She has a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) from Curtin University of Technology and moved to Darwin in 2009 after working in regional WA.

She has specialist training and experience in Family Partnerships and Coaching, DIR Floortime, Circle of Security, Sensory Processing Assessment and Intervention, Feeding and Mealtime Management, Motor Planning and Praxis, and Symbolic and Imaginary Play.

Shannon’s special interests include the impact of diet and nutrition and biomedical factors on child development.

Shannon won the Telstra NT Young Business Woman of the Year in 2014 and the NT Disability Services and Inclusion Awards – Emerging Leader in 2015.
