ESDM programs – Little Oaks: Hawthorn and Sandringham clinics

Early Start Australia’s Little Oaks program is Australia’s first health service provider delivering the intensive 1:1 Early Start Denver Model (ESDM).

ESDM is a comprehensive evidence-based behavioural early intervention program for children with autism as well as a range of other developmental needs.

Our aim is to follow the ESDM program developed by The Mind Institute to bring positive outcomes so that your child can have the best start in life

The Little Oaks program is a centre-based program that brings together the benefits of 1:1 therapy and group elements.

Our young kiddies are supported within their 1:1 individualised goals as well as to engage in kindergarten-based routines such as circle time, craft, group snack, group learning and other fun themed events throughout the term.

Individualised goals are developed using the ESDM curriculum checklist assessment and run throughout the morning with their therapist in a fun and child-led manner.

Children are supported in learning some of those everyday routines in a warm, child-centred environment and are then supported in the transition within their local community.

With a range of enrolment options to suit families, we provide early intervention therapy services within our world-class centres as well as within homes and the local community.

ESDM Community program: Bayside and Boroondara regions

The Community program provides tailored and individualised programs for children, delivered in homes, childcare, kindergarten and all natural settings.

We support developmentally delayed children and those with autism spectrum disorder towards exceptional outcomes and the best start in life.

The Community program can assist with:

• Fine motor skills
• Speech development
• Behaviour intervention services
• Social skills
• Inclusion support

The Community program integrates the Early Start Denver Model (EDSM) therapy along with support clients within their daily routines and locations.

It is delivered by highly trained professionals including teachers, early childhood educators and behaviour analysts.

The most important component is that ESDM works in strong partnership with the family.
