Literacy programs
Many of our therapists have a special interest in teaching literacy skills.
Our literacy programs are a great way to boost the development of essential literacy skills in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
Our therapists are experienced in promoting the development of literacy skills including very early underpinning skills of phonological awareness including counting syllables, rhyme, blending and segmenting sounds to make words.
Once these skills are well established, a child is taken through a systematic, carefully graded and multi-sensory approach to learning reading, spelling and writing.
Literacy programs help children who have difficulty reading and writing in areas including, but not limited to:
- Receptive language
- Expressive language
- Preliteracy skills
- Social language
- Comprehension
- Articulation
- Functional writing skills
