School-aged social skills group
This group is designed for primary school students who are working on developing their social language skills and interactions with peers.
This group provides children with an opportunity to learn and consolidate these skills in a small group environment and give them the confidence to transfer these skills into their everyday situations at home, school and with their friends.
The school aged social skills group focuses on using non-verbal and verbal language with others
It also focuses on:
- Participation in collaborative activities with peers in which the children learn to get along with others
- Problem solving
- Listening
- Negotiating
- Sharing ideas
- Supporting and noticing others
- Responding appropriately to others’ ideas
