Early Start Australia Missed Appointments and Cancellation Statement

Missed Appointments and Cancellations Statement

We understand that sometimes cancellations and missed appointments are unavoidable – however please be mindful that a therapist has been allocated to you, and generally your appointment cannot be filled by others at short notice.

If you are an NDIS client and unable to attend your scheduled appointment time, the NDIS guidelines require two (2) business days* notice (i.e. this does not include the weekend) otherwise a cancellation fee will apply.

If it is possible to provide you with an alternative (such as a telehealth session) we will make every effort to do this so that you can avoid the late cancellation fee (charged at 100% of your session time).

Alternatively, if you have an NDIS Plan and we can utilise the time for approved activities outlined in your service agreement (such as liaison with teachers or other health professionals involved in your program; developing new materials and resources to support your plan; or updating your progress reports) then this non face-to-face activity can be booked against your plan instead.

If you are a private client and unable to attend your scheduled appointment time, then please note we require two (2) business days* notice (i.e. this does not include the weekend) otherwise a cancellation fee will apply.

If it is possible to provide you with an alternative (such as a telehealth session) we will make every effort to do this so that you can avoid the late cancellation fee (charged at 100% of your session time).

You can contact the clinic by email or phone. Our reception team do not have the system capabilities to override missed appointments or waive fees – but if you have any concerns about the process please contact us.

*Please note our clinic operates in usual business hours. Notifications received outside business hours will be logged at 9am on the following business day.
