Therapy support in schools to help children reach their full potential
Often, the place where support is needed most is not in the clinic setting. Our therapists can deliver therapy supports where they are needed, including in the classroom or school setting.
Working in different settings is important as it means we can help children learn and use their developing skills in their everyday environments.
Our therapists can observe children in their classroom environment, working with the child, family, and educators to develop strategies that improve participation at school.
We can also provide screening programs at kindergartens and schools, support educator’s professional development as well as provide parent education sessions.

Screening of kindergarten, pre-primary or year 1 classes
Early Start Australia can provide Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy services in the school setting.
We can screen whole classes or just a few children for whom the teacher holds concerns. The areas screened include articulation (speech sounds), comprehension, expressive language, narrative and phonological awareness.
The consultation includes collation and analysis of data for teachers and the write-up of individualised parent feedback letters.
